Basking In The Glow

So I've been reading this book about finding joy and beauty in each and every situation that we're in. I love the idea of even in the most stressful times, there is some form of beauty to be unveiled.

I know how stressful, overwhelming and difficult it can be to plan a wedding. From the time your honey pops the question, you are immediately pressured to set a date and have the whole dang thing planned from the get go. I remember when my sister got engaged, we had a little celebration dinner that night with his family and ours. Y'all, they were asked if they had set a date THE DAY THEY GOT ENGAGED!!! I don't know about you, but I think that's a little bit of a ridiculous expectation.

Today I just want to encourage you. Take a break. Bask in this season of engagement. It won't come around again. This time is so precious, so take some time to enjoy it! Wedding planning should be fun, but it often times becomes this huge deal that becomes more of a burden.

I want to challenge all of my engaged ladies to take their honey on a date night and just focus on the two of you. Not on the wedding planning, not on any issues your bridesmaids or groomsmen are having. Just have a date night! It's so important to take a step back during this stressful planning period and just have a moment for the two of you and find the beauty.
